Every employee at Charlottesville Running Company makes running not only a passion, but also a way of life.

Gill, the owner, competes in ultra marathons for Team Montrail/Mountain Hardwear.  He runs between 8 and 10 ultras each year, ranging from 50K to 100 mile races.  His running resumee includes a 2:42 PR at the Chicago Marathon and numerous wins and top fives at races ranging from 5K  to 50 miles.

Francesca, the co-owner, has a PhD in Biology, and has made running her true life's passion. Like Gill, she competes for Team Montrail/Mountain Hardwear.  Her career includes numerous wins, including the 2008 USATF 50 mile championship, the Laurel Highlands 70 miler and many 100 mile races (Old Dominion, Arkansas, Coyote 2 Moon, where she set a new course record) and 50K and Marathons.

Dawn tint James tint

Dawn and James are past members of the University's team.  Dawn trained post-collegiately and competed at the 2008 Olympic Trials for the 3000mt steeplechase.  James is trying something new by competing at several long distance and trail races:  he finished second overall at the 2009 Charlottesville Marathon and holds the course record for several CRC events.

Jeff Wilbur is also an ultra runner.  After his career as a NOLS instructor which included a summit of Denali, he found his passion in long distance races on difficult courses.  He has completed the Massanutten 100 miler and the Hardrock 100 miler, two of the most difficult races in the world.

Jeff Robertson is a University of Virginia student and avid local runner.  He has run numerous Marathon with great success, including the 2008 Boston Marathon.

Marty started his sporting career as an offensive lineman at Notre Dame, where he played for four years.  Since then, Marty has run numerous races and Marathons, and is the most knowleadgeable CRC Team member on injury rehabilitation and strenght.  Marty is a key component of all CRC events; he also volunteers at almost other running events in Charlottesville, and is a great and vocal promoter of running in the community.

CRC also employees several current members of the University's Team.
