CRC in Benin
A little while ago I got an email from Christoph Herby. Christoph is a CRC customer, and he sent me an email with a very simple question: could I get him a new pair of the shoes he had bought from us? There was, nevertheless, a catch: Christoph is now in Benin with the Peace Corps, so the shoes had to find their way to Benin somehow. The shoes in question were a pair of Vasque trail runners which Christoph had purchased before leaving, and which he quickly chewed up on the trails in Benin.
Marty placed the order and we gave him a hefty discount. One of Christoph's family members picked them up and added them to a shipment she was sending out to Africa. About 5 months went by, and, just yesterday, I received the following email and pictures from Christoph:
Hi Francesca and Marty,
After a long journey those shoes you sent me many months ago finally made it to me here in Benin.
It's great to finally be running in some new kicks. They fit great and the insoles have awesome support.
As promised, I'm sending a couple pictures. One is self-explanatory, the other is a shot taken along the path I run regularly. It's not always so exceptionally colorful, but it's nonetheless a beautiful place to run. If only it weren't the hot season....
